Template vs Custom weighs a bought template against hiring me for custom work across two decision panels. Each panel opens with a verdict, lists cost and timeline fact rows, then names the signs it is the right call, and the whole block is framed by an admission that I regularly tell prospects to keep their money.
Both panels render from one array of title, verdict, facts, and signs fields, with the custom column on the card background. The distinctive choice is giving the template path a genuine verdict rather than a soft setup, so the guidance reads as advice instead of a sales funnel.
Reach for this block on a services or pricing page when enquiries arrive that a template would serve better, and you would rather say so than take work you cannot justify. The installer rewrites both panels with their own price bands and the real signals that point each way.

Tip: mean the concession. Prospects can tell when the cheaper path is offered in good faith, and the ones you turn away often come back later.
