License

Learn more about the Shadcn UI Blocks licensing model. Have a question? Get in touch and we'll help you out.

What you buy

Shadcn UI Blocks grants you an ongoing, non-exclusive license to use the Blocks and Components you purchase. Everything is sold as a one-time purchase, never a subscription.

You can buy access in one of two ways:

  • A single Collection. Buy one Collection of blocks and component variants, or a single template, on its own. You only pay for what you need.
  • All Access. One discounted bundle covering every Collection, every component variant, and every template that is available at the time of your purchase.

In both cases the license grants permission to one individual (the Licensee) to access and use the Products they have purchased. Compare the options on the pricing page.

What All Access covers

All Access is a single one-time purchase that unlocks the entire catalog as it stands at the moment you buy: every block Collection, every component variant, and every template available that day.

All Access covers what exists today, not what we release in the future. As the catalog grows we may add new Collections or templates that are not part of a previous All Access purchase. What you buy now is yours to keep, and we will always be clear about exactly what a purchase includes before you check out.

Your rights

You can:

  • Use the Products you purchased to create unlimited End Products.
  • Modify the Products to create derivative blocks and components. Those derivatives are subject to this license.
  • Use the Products to create unlimited End Products for unlimited Clients.
  • Use the Products to create End Products where the End Product is sold to End Users.
  • Use the Products to create End Products that are open source and freely available to End Users.

You cannot:

  • Use the Products to create End Products that are designed to allow an End User to build their own End Products using the Products or derivatives of the Products.
  • Re-distribute the Products or derivatives of the Products separately from an End Product, neither in code nor as design assets.
  • Share your access to the Products with any other individuals.
  • Use the Products to produce anything that may be deemed by Shadcn UI Blocks, in their sole and absolute discretion, to be competitive or in conflict with the business of Shadcn UI Blocks.

Example usage

Examples of usage allowed by the license:

  • Creating a personal website by yourself.
  • Creating a website or web application for a client that will be owned by that client.
  • Creating a commercial SaaS application (like an invoicing app for example) where end users have to pay a fee to use the application.
  • Creating a commercial self-hosted web application that is sold to end users for a one-time fee.
  • Creating a web application where the primary purpose is clearly not to simply re-distribute the blocks (like a conference organization app that uses the blocks for its UI for example) that is free and open source, where the source code is publicly available.

Examples of usage not allowed by the license:

  • Creating a repository of your favorite Shadcn UI Blocks blocks or components (or derivatives based on Shadcn UI Blocks blocks or components) and publishing it publicly.
  • Creating a UI library using Shadcn UI Blocks blocks and making it available either for sale or for free.
  • Converting a Shadcn UI Blocks template to another framework and making it available either for sale or for free.
  • Creating a Figma or Sketch UI kit based on the Shadcn UI Blocks block designs.
  • Creating a "website builder" project where end users can build their own websites using blocks or components included with or derived from Shadcn UI Blocks.
  • Creating a theme, template, or project starter kit using the blocks or components and making it available either for sale or for free.
  • Creating an admin panel tool (like Laravel Nova or ActiveAdmin) that is made available either for sale or for free.

In simple terms, use Shadcn UI Blocks for anything you like as long as it doesn't compete with Shadcn UI Blocks.

Refund policy

Because these are digital products delivered instantly, we typically do not issue refunds. Once a digital file is delivered it cannot be returned, and unfortunately some individuals have misused refund requests in the past.

We ask that you carefully consider your purchase before completing it. Please also avoid putting us in a difficult situation with refund requests unless you have a genuine or exceptional reason.

Common scenarios where refunds are not granted:

  • You've already downloaded the product but decided you no longer want it.
  • You changed your mind after purchasing.
  • The item was bought by mistake.
  • You're unable to use or implement the code due to lack of technical skills.
  • You feel the item doesn't meet your personal expectations or standards.
  • You request a refund without offering a valid reason or explanation.

This isn't a complete list, just examples of situations we encounter frequently.

Definitions

Licensee is the individual who has purchased a Collection, a template, or All Access.

Products are the blocks, component variants, templates, source code, and design assets made available to the Licensee after purchasing, limited to the Collections and templates that purchase covers.

Collection is a grouping of blocks and component variants sold as a single unit, as listed on the pricing page.

All Access is the bundle covering every Collection, component variant, and template available at the time of purchase. It does not include products released after that purchase.

End Product is any artifact produced that incorporates the Products or derivatives of the Products.

End User is a user of an End Product.

Client is an individual or entity receiving custom professional services directly from the Licensee, produced specifically for that individual or entity. Customers of software-as-a-service products are not considered clients for the purpose of this document.
