About this block

Task Board Compact is the Apollo board in Q2 sprint view, three narrow columns (To do, Doing, Done) each with small one-line cards. Every card carries a checkbox stand-in dot, a truncated title, and a size-4 assignee avatar. To do holds four items including Seat enforcement on invite flow; Doing holds three including Rate-limit headers for API assigned to Jordan Lee; Done holds three muted cards including Stripe webhook handler v3 assigned to Avery Stone.

Columns are one typed array of typed card arrays. The done column uses bg-muted/30 cards and muted text to signal completion without a colour token.

When to use

Reach for this block in a sidebar, a split-pane layout, or any context where a full-width kanban would be too wide, wired to your board and card endpoints.

What you can display

One strong use is the sprint sidebar summary board. Other compact board shapes:

• Per-person view. One column per teammate with their active tasks, useful in a team overview panel.
• Status strip. Four columns mapping to a linear workflow: Backlog, In Review, Staging, Released.
• Read-only board. Drop the checkbox dot and truncate titles further for a status-at-a-glance widget.

Tip: truncate card titles at one line with overflow ellipsis; the compact board trades detail for density, and wrapping titles collapse the space advantage.
