Regional Status Matrix is the region by service availability grid: five services (API, Web app, Database replicas, Object storage, CDN edge) run down as rows, four deployment regions (us-east-1, us-west-2, eu-west-1, ap-southeast-1) run across as columns, and each Table cell holds a status dot plus the current latency measured from that region. The eu-west-1 column carries the trouble: elevated API latency at 418 ms and a CDN edge outage, so the degraded state reads at a glance. A legend and a failover note sit below.
CellStatus is a union that drives the dot opacity, and each cell keeps a screen reader only status label so the color coding stays accessible. Region summaries mark eu-west-1 as Degraded in the column header.
Reach for this block on a multi region status page or an internal reliability dashboard, wired to your in region synthetic probes. The regions and services are data, swap them for your own footprint and the matrix scales to any grid size.

One strong use is the multi region latency view. Other matrix shapes:
Tip: keep the failover note in the legend, saying where degraded traffic is routing turns a red cell into a status your customers can trust.
