Audit Log Settings is the compliance control panel: a retention period Select (closed, defaulting to 365 days), a viewer-access card that names the constraint honestly (Admins only, not configurable, granting Admin gives full read access to all audit events), and an export card with a recent-exports list showing who requested each CSV, when, what date range, and how many rows (14,382 for Avery Stone on Jun 12, 4,901 for Marcus Kim on May 29). The immutability callout closes the panel: every export is itself recorded in the audit log, including who requested it and when, and no admin action can delete or modify audit events before the retention window expires.
Recent exports are one const array keyed by id. The immutability note is the copy that satisfies most compliance requirements without a support question.
Reach for this block on a workspace settings page under Security or Compliance, wired to your retention setting endpoint and audit log export API. The viewer access section is read-only by design; do not add a toggle.

Tip: stating that the log records its own exports is the sentence that closes the loop for auditors and builds trust before they ask.
