Welcome Checklist is the day one setup panel, five tasks with honest time estimates, two already done and struck through: Create a project and Invite a teammate. The remaining three, Connect a source (4 min), Install the CLI, and Send your first event (2 min each), sit open. A Progress bar reads 2 of 5 done at the top, and the dismiss note at the bottom is explicit: once dismissed, this list leaves you alone forever, and every task stays available from Settings.
Tasks are one array with done and estimate fields. The dismiss note matters because most users scan checklists once and close them; naming that behaviour up front stops the every login anxiety of a list that might come back.
Reach for this block on the first screen a new user lands on after sign up, wired to your onboarding progress endpoint. Uncheck items when the real completion events arrive, not when the user ticks the box.
