Region Selector is the data-residency picker, three ruled rows for United States (US East, Virginia, 12 ms, Recommended and selected), European Union (EU West, Ireland, 98 ms, GDPR-compliant, no transatlantic transfer), and Asia-Pacific (AP Southeast, Singapore, 214 ms, covered by PDPA and APEC CBPR). Each row shows a filled radio-style circle when selected, the region name, sub-zone, latency from you, and a one-line data-residency note. A muted footer panel carries the honest constraint: region is set once at workspace creation; moving data to a different region requires a support request and up to 4 hours of downtime.
Regions are one array with latency, residency, and badge fields unified across every row. The footer is the line that pre-empts every data-migration support ticket.
Reach for this block on workspace-creation onboarding and data-governance settings pages. Render it read-only once a workspace has been created; wire the selectable state only during the initial setup step.

One strong use is the initial workspace data-residency choice during onboarding. Other region-selector surfaces:
Tip: include the latency figure even on a read-only view; it answers the performance question before anyone asks it.
