About this block

Member Roles Ladder publishes the whole status system on one card. Four roles, Newcomer up to Moderator, sit in a divided table with a member count under each name, how the role is earned, and what it unlocks marked with a check. The counts taper honestly, thousands of newcomers down to six moderators, so the ladder reads as steep where it should be.

The roles are one array. The claim in the heading, earned and never bought, is the load bearing one, every row has to back it with a public and specific bar, twenty five accepted answers, not vague activity. The closing note that roles never reset and none are for sale is the guarantee that keeps the ladder from feeling like a paywall.

When to use

Reach for this block when a community runs on earned standing and wants that path visible before anyone joins. It answers the quiet question a prospective member has, what does it take to matter here, and it sets the expectation that status comes from contribution. Skip it where roles are bought or assigned, the section only works when the bars are real.

A natural flow around it on a Marketing Pro page:

Before

• Contributor grid showing the people who climbed the ladder

After

• Community guidelines spelling out the conduct behind each role
• CTAs inviting the reader onto the bottom rung

What you can display

One strong use is the community status ladder. Other ladders:

• Certification tiers. Skill levels earned through assessments and projects.
• Contributor track. Open source roles from first patch to maintainer.
• Ambassador program. Advocacy stages with the perks each one unlocks.

Tip: put a real member count under every role, the taper from many to few is what makes the top rung mean anything.
