About this block

Break In Expectations schedules the stiff year across four ruled stage columns, week one through year five, each naming what the canvas does and why it is normal. Week 1 "stands up on its own," month 3 shows fold lines "where your hands actually work," year 1 "drapes instead of standing," and year 5 is "fully yours" with a wear map that reads as a diary. The footer holds the honest tension: the return window is 60 days and the break in takes a year, so "if the week two stiffness reads as a problem rather than a promise, return it inside the window."

Stages are one array of a marker and a note, laid out as ruled columns that read left to right as a timeline. Mono markers keep the schedule feeling like a spec, not a pitch.

When to use

Reach for this block on a material or product care page where new stiffness would otherwise read as a defect, after the product care sections, or on a buying guide setting expectations before the order. The return window cited must match the live policy so the footer stays true.

A natural flow around it on an Ecommerce Pro page:

Before

• Spec sections

After

• Returns sections
• Ask before you buy

What you can display

One strong use is the four stage break in schedule. Other timeline editions:

• Leather patina. How color and grain shift across the first year of daily carry.
• Denim fade. The wear map of a raw pair over months, named so early creasing reads as intended.
• Blade seasoning. A carbon knife or pan darkening with use, the schedule that says it is working.

Tip: pairing the year long break in with the 60 day return window is the honesty of the block; it tells the reader when patience ends and a return begins.
