About this block

Alternating Category Bands gives each aisle a full width editorial split, the image landing on alternating sides down the page, paired with a written introduction, four ruled subcategory rows with counts and floors, and a shop all link. Placeholder imagery holds the picture side until real photography lands.

Bands are one array, each with its introduction line and nested shelves, and the index drives which side the image sits on. The layout balances a tall image against a full column of copy and rows, so neither side floats in whitespace.

When to use

Reach for this block when you have two or three flagship aisles worth a paragraph each, not a flat grid of twelve. It suits stores that merchandise with words as much as pictures, giving each category room to explain its cut before the shelves list out.

A natural flow around it on an Ecommerce Pro page:

Before

• Store hero of any kind

After

• Product grids where each shelf lands
• Brand story

What you can display

One strong use is your flagship aisles introduced properly. Other splits:

• Collections. A capsule per band with its own story.
• Rooms. Kitchen and bedroom for home goods.
• Makers. One band per house brand you carry.

Tip: keep each introduction to two sentences, the rows below carry the detail and the paragraph only sets the mood.
