About this block

Latest Writing Footer splits into two columns: the left carries the name, a short line about what the owner writes, the email as a plain link, and a row of three social icons. The right carries a Recent writing heading with an all essays link over a ruled list of four essays, each titled and dated. A ruled copyright bar closes the block.

The posts are one array of four objects, each with a title, a date, and an href. Closing on the writing is the distinctive part: the page ends with one more chance to pull a reader into the essays rather than out the door.

When to use

Reach for this block as the footer of a portfolio for a designer or developer who also publishes, and wants the writing to keep working at the bottom of the page. The installer swaps the name, the intro line, the email, the four essays, and the social hrefs.

A natural flow around it on a Portfolio Pro page:

Before

• Writing portfolio
• Newsletter section

After

• Nothing, footers close the page

What you can display

One strong use is the recent essays closer. Other writing-forward footers:

• By topic. Group the list under a theme, notes on independent practice, instead of a plain recent feed.
• Longer feed. Extend to six posts when the writing is the main reason people visit the site.
• Newsletter pairing. Keep the essay list and point the intro line at a subscribe link for regular readers.

Tip: date every essay, Jun 2026 signals the writing is active; an undated list reads as archived whether it is or not.
