Announcement Bar Nav stacks a slim strip above the main header on an inverse background: a centred note reading Two project slots open for autumn 2026, an inline Start a project link with a small arrow, and a dismiss button pinned to the right. The main row below carries the name mark Avery Stone and four page links.
The strip uses the primary colour for its background and foreground, so it stands apart from the header without a border. Nav links are one typed array; the strip is fixed markup a visitor can close with the X button.
Reach for this block when the portfolio has something time sensitive to surface above everything else, a booking window, a new release, or a limited offer, without pushing it into the page body. The installer swaps the strip copy, the link, and the nav labels.

One strong use is the freelancer announcing open project slots. Other strip uses:
Tip: keep the strip to a single short line; it shares the row with the link and the dismiss button, and long copy truncates before it reads on mobile.
