About this block

Video Transcript Split serves watchers and readers from one section. The left column is a player mockup: a placeholder poster with a primary play disc that scales gently on hover, wrapped as a button ready for your embed. The right column is a transcript panel with a labeled header, a stack of timestamped speaker turns, and a footer link out to the full text.

The turns are one array of time, speaker, and text, so trimming the excerpt to the strongest few lines is a data edit. The split gives skimmers the same story as the people who press play, which widens the audience a video alone would lose. Swap the Placeholder for a real poster and point the footer link at the complete transcript.

When to use

Reach for this block when a conversation matters more than its production, an interview, a customer story, or a fireside where the words carry the value. The excerpt earns trust before anyone commits to watching, and the full transcript link serves search and accessibility. For a straight demo video use video-player-split, and for a set of sessions reach for video-grid-thumbnails.

A natural flow around it on a Marketing Pro page:

Before

• Testimonials setting up the people whose conversation this transcribes

After

• Case studies turning the quoted story into a full result
• CTAs catching the reader who finished the excerpt

What you can display

One strong use is a two person customer conversation with its best lines pulled. Other transcripts:

• Founder interview. A vision talk where the excerpt lands the one quotable line up front.
• Panel discussion. A multi speaker session with the turns rotating across panelists.
• Podcast episode. An audio conversation where the transcript does the work the poster cannot.

Tip: pick the excerpt for its best line, not the opening minute, the transcript is a hook, not a table of contents.
