The opening lede earns the time it asks for: “16 minutes at home buys a quieter decade.” The wax step names the seam holes as the vulnerability, not the fabric; the strap step insists on real weight at home rather than an empty hallway; the receipt step offers the serial registration as the durable alternative that survives a wallet cleanout. The footer hands off to the care guide without repeating itself.
