About this block

Group Gift Explainer breaks a pooled purchase into two columns: three numbered steps for how it works (one person starts it, others chip in by link, it ships quietly), and three honest rules that cover what can go wrong before it goes wrong. The lede frames the whole mechanic in dollars: “The $165 bag nobody buys alone gets bought by five people at $33.” The rules state that contributions refund automatically if the target is not met at 30 days, that the organizer can top up or downgrade the pick, and that leftover money lands as store credit for the recipient, with the exact amount stated on the card inside the box.

Steps are one array, rules are a second array. The footer names the connection to the registry group gift and makes the generalization explicit: same mechanics, no registry required, any product qualifies.

When to use

Reach for this block on the gifting landing page, ahead of the link that starts a group gift. The 30 day refund rule must reflect real payment processing: automatic, no one chasing friends for the difference.

A natural flow around it on an Ecommerce Pro page:

Before

• Gift card options

After

• Gift concierge card
• Gift returns promise band

What you can display

One strong use is the bag pool for five. Other group gift setups:

• Registry version. The same block scoped to a single registry, the context already set.
• Event gift. An office or team pool with a stated headcount and per person suggestion.
• Open amount. No target set, the organizer collects what arrives and chooses on total.

Tip: stating the three rules before someone starts, rather than in a terms modal after, is what makes the mechanic trustable and the whole block worth having.
