About this block

Payment Failed Recovery handles the decline without shame or mystery, the bank declined it and told us nothing else, you were not charged, the cart is held. Three ways forward follow, the retry with its real clear rate, the method switch with the reassurance nothing is held against the first try, and the 48 hour payment link for finishing after a bank call. The footer defuses the pending charge panic before the support ticket.

Options are one array. A retry clears about a third of them is the line that converts, declines feel terminal until someone shares the base rate.

When to use

Reach for this block as the decline state of your payment step. The pending hold explanation should match your processor's actual auth and capture behavior.

A natural flow around it on an Ecommerce Pro page:

Before

• Payment step

After

• Order confirmation

What you can display

One strong use is the card decline. Other recovery states:

• 3DS timeout. The authentication expired case with its specific retry.
• Wallet failure. The wallet specific version where retry means reopening the sheet.
• Inventory race. Payment fine, stock gone, the refund and restock alert state.

Tip: we only ever charge on success belongs on every failure screen, the fear of a double charge blocks more retries than the decline itself.
