Overlay Caption Card

About this block

Overlay Caption Card shows four project tiles as a two-column grid, each a full-bleed Placeholder with a frosted bottom strip holding the project name and the role in plain text. The four demo projects are Ledger, Tend, Field Notes, and Atlas, roles ranging from Lead product design to Design systems. The caption stays pinned to the image edge so the work and the credit read as a single surface.

Projects are one flat array. The frosted strip is the distinctive choice: it keeps the caption readable against any thumbnail without lifting it off the image into separate metadata below.

When to use

Reach for this block as a selected-work grid on a homepage or at the top of a work page. The installer swaps the Placeholder tiles for real project images and keeps the role line honest about what they actually owned.

What you can display

One strong use is the selected-work caption grid. Other layouts:

• Agency grid. Client name in the caption, discipline on the second line.
• Photography grid. Location and date instead of role, for editorial or travel work.
• Archive view. Smaller tiles in a three or four column layout for a broader catalogue.

Tip: the role line is the portfolio; a frosted caption that just repeats the project name wastes the only text in frame.
