Engagement Flow maps the working relationship as five rows from First Call to Handoff, each split into what you do and what I do: at scoping the client reviews a brief and flags edits, while the designer writes a fixed-price proposal with no hourly billing; at handoff the client confirms files are complete and the designer stays reachable for two weeks post-launch.

Steps are one array with a you and a me field. The two- column you / me layout is the distinctive detail, making the mutual expectations explicit is more useful than a list of phases the designer controls alone.

When to use

Reach for this block on a services or about page where the working relationship itself needs explaining, not just the deliverables. The installer swaps the step titles and the you/me copy to reflect their own collaboration style.

What you can display

One strong use is the freelance collaboration map. Other engagement shapes:

• Agency flow. The same five steps with the me column written for a team rather than an individual.
• Retainer flow. Recurring steps (align, execute, review, renew) for ongoing rather than project work.
• Short flow. Three steps for small engagements where scoping and kickoff collapse into a single call.

Tip: naming what the client does at each step is what separates an engagement flow from a process list, it shows the collaboration is two-sided.
