Reading List presents six books as ruled rows, each with title, author, a one-line why, and a status badge: The Design of Everyday Things (Reading), How Charts Lie (Reading), A Pattern Language (Reading), Working in Public (Finished), Thinking in Systems (Finished), and Shape Up (Queued). Status badges distinguish active reading from the completed and the planned. The lede frames the why field as the thing that made each book worth the time.
Reading items are one array typed with a status union. The distinctive choice is the why field, one sentence that names the direct connection to current work rather than a generic summary.
Reach for this block on a /now page, an about page, or a standalone /reading page. The installer replaces the six books with their own current reading, keeping the one-line why honest about the actual connection to their practice.

Tip: the why column is what makes a reading list interesting, a title and author alone is just a shelf photo.
