Song Story

About this block

Song Story is a two column split. The left column is a card holding a two stanza lyric excerpt above a ruled track meta line, title, album, and length. The right column carries the written story of how the song came together in two short paragraphs, a ruled credits list covering writing, production, recording, strings, mix, and master, and a closing listen link back to the finished take.

Two const arrays, stanzas and credits, fill the two sides. The lyric card and the story column are set to comparable height so the ruled credits list closes the right side against the meta line on the left and neither half floats.

When to use

Reach for this block on an album page or a liner notes page, wherever a listener wants the story behind a single song rather than a whole record. The installer swaps the lyric stanzas, the two story paragraphs, and the credits.

What you can display

One strong use is a single song liner note. Other story shapes:

• Cover story. Explain why you recorded someone else's song and credit the original writer.
• Instrumental note. Trade the lyric stanzas for a short note on the arrangement and the players.
• Demo to master. Walk the take from first voice memo to the mix that made the record.

Tip: the story earns its space when it names a real room or moment, a sentence on where the song was cut beats a paragraph of genre description.
