Split Portrait Hero is the classic two-column personal site opener, the name and eight-year positioning lede on the left beside an aspect-4/5 portrait placeholder on the right. A ruled detail strip fills the left column below the lede with three rows: availability (two slots from October), focus (product design, design systems), and location (Amsterdam, remote-friendly).
The left and right columns carry comparable visual height per the split-layout rule. The ruled strip is the column balancer: it fills what would otherwise be a short text column floating beside a tall portrait.
Reach for this block as the homepage hero for a freelance designer or developer who wants a portrait alongside the intro. The installer swaps the portrait placeholder, the three detail rows, and the availability date.

Tip: the detail strip must stay honest; an availability row that names a real month is more useful than one that says currently available.
