Coming Soon is the pre-launch page that commits to a date. The wordmark, the product one liner, then the launch date at display size, the largest element on the page because it is the only news the page has. The email form follows with the two email promise in small print, one the week before, one on the day, that is the whole list.
Everything is strings. The date at display scale is the design decision, soon is a shrug, September 18 is a promise, and pages that name the day collect better emails. The email count promise converts the list shy.
Reach for this block when the launch has a date you will keep. For dateless prelaunch, use the waitlist blocks instead, they trade on exclusivity rather than anticipation. This page should be replaced by the real site the morning of the date it shows.
