About this block

Team By Department shows structure, not just faces. A heading and lede sit above three labeled groups, each with a department name, a one line charter, and a wrapped row of pill chips holding an avatar, name, and short role. The chips keep twelve people compact, and the charters explain what each table actually does.

The departments are one nested array, groups hold three to six people before wrapping to a second row, and the charters are single strings worth writing carefully. The chip treatment uses the shared avatar set and tokens, so the section stays consistent with every other team block in the collection.

When to use

Reach for this block when how the company is organized is itself a selling point, small senior teams, clear ownership, no mystery middle. It scales past the point where team-grid-with-avatars becomes a wall, while keeping faces that compact-team-roles gives up. Candidates especially read this block as a promise about where they would sit.

What you can display

One strong use is a twelve person company in three functions. Other groupings:

• Squads. Product teams by mission for an engineering brand, each charter naming the surface they own.
• Regions. People grouped by office or timezone for a distributed company page.
• Working groups. A community or DAO grouped by what each circle stewards.

Tip: write charters as accountabilities, sets the direction and answers for it beats a list of job families.
