About this block

Api Hero With Terminal opens a developer landing page with the pitch beside a terminal already mid session. The request is four lines of curl, the response is real looking JSON with an id and a latency figure, and the blinking cursor implies the next command is yours. Two buttons split the audience, get a key or read docs.

The terminal is drawn from divs and mono text, no images and no syntax highlighter dependency. Request and response live in two small arrays at the top of the file, so swapping in your actual API shape is a one minute edit.

When to use

Reach for this block at the top of API and developer tool pages where the fastest way to qualify a visitor is showing the actual interface, the code. Pair it with quickstart steps so the promise of the terminal has a path behind it.

A natural flow around it on a Marketing Pro page:

Before

• Nothing, heroes open the page

After

• Quickstart steps turning the curl call into a running integration
• Pricing with the free tier the hero promised

What you can display

One strong use is your simplest possible API call with its real response. Other terminals:

• CLI install. The package manager line and the first command that does something visible.
• Webhook tail. A live looking stream of events arriving.
• Deploy output. The three lines between push and a URL.

Tip: keep the response honest, a real id format and a real latency number read as documentation, not decoration.
