Checklist Manifesto turns ethics into a feature list. Six checked commitments in two columns each pair a concrete rule, reversible sends, quiet hours, instant unsubscribes, with the practice that enforces it, and the lede addresses both audiences at once, customers and the recipients of their campaigns. The check discs borrow feature list grammar for moral claims, which is the point.
The commitments are one array of title and text. Each rule must be mechanically true, the undo window is a feature, the throttling is a policy with revenue cost. The because everyone has sent the wrong thing once register keeps the section human rather than sanctimonious.
