About this block

Stat Callout Story is a case study paced like a feature article. Three narrative paragraphs in a narrow reading column are twice interrupted by ruled, centered stat callouts at display size, the before number and the after number, so a skimmer who reads nothing else still gets the story arc, 23 hours, then 2.9x. A small attribution line names the customer and industry above the title.

The prose and callouts are plain JSX in alternating order. The writing carries it, nobody had been wrong, exactly, they had been deciding a quarter late, is the register this format wants, honest narrative with the wound and the recovery both shown.

When to use

Reach for this block when one customer story is strong enough to tell properly and you want readers, not scanners, served first without losing the scanners entirely. It is the editorial sibling of quote-led-story, prose forward where growth-chart-story is chart forward. One per page, it is a feature article, not a card.

A natural flow around it on a Marketing Pro page:

Before

• Logo clouds hinting at the bench this story was drawn from

After

• Mini results grids showing the same arc across more customers
• CTAs for readers moved by the recovery

What you can display

One strong use is the flagship customer arc with its two numbers. Other articles:

• The near miss. A customer who almost churned from their old stack, with the cost numbers as callouts.
• The skeptic. A distrustful buyer won over, with their own verification numbers interrupting.
• The scale up. A customer who grew 10x on the platform, with the volume numbers as the beats.

Tip: write the prose so the callouts land as punchlines, the paragraph before each number should make the reader want it.
