Roles By Department organizes a longer hiring list into teams. A heading and lede sit above grouped sections, each with the department name, an open count on the right, and ruled rows of role links with locations. Candidates who know what they do find their section in one scan and read only the rows that apply to them.
The departments are one nested array of title and roles. Counts are computed from the data, so they cannot drift from the rows beneath them. Groups of two to four roles read best, a department with one role still earns its header because the header is doing navigation, not decoration.
Reach for this block when the openings list outgrows open-roles-list, usually past seven or eight roles, or when teams hire on visibly different profiles and candidates self sort by craft. The structure also lets a growing company show shape, three engineering rows and one marketing row tells its own story about where the product is headed.

Tip: order departments by openings descending, leading with your biggest section signals where the energy is.
