About this block

Announcement Bar is one sentence of news. A slim muted strip bounded by hairline rules carries a highlighted lead word, the announcement itself, and an arrow that nudges right on hover, the whole bar being a single link. It is designed to sit directly above or below the navbar without competing with it.

The lead word, sentence, and href are the only content. Keep the sentence under twelve words so the bar holds one line on phones. The muted surface keeps it quieter than the primary colored strip built into nav-with-announcement, which is the louder alternative when the news deserves color.

When to use

Reach for this block for news that should be seen but not shouted, feature releases, plan changes, scheduled maintenance, event reminders. As a standalone block it can also sit between page sections as a quiet interruption. For promotions with urgency, the promo-band-with-cta or sale banner siblings carry the pressure this bar deliberately avoids.

What you can display

One strong use is a feature release with a details link. Other single sentences:

• Event reminder. A webinar date with the link going to registration.

Tip: change the lead word with the message, New, Update, and Heads up each set a different expectation before the sentence starts.
